Baranti is a beautiful place close to Asansol......surrounded by hills and hillocks viz. Baranti, Garangi, Biharinath....with forest on one side and the serene Baranti dam on the otherside it is mostly inhabited by the mals and the santals. The red laterite  soil  provides beautiful " LAL MATI " trails winding through the village hitting every single spot starting from the green fields, the Baranti dam and finally enters the Santuri Range forest commonly known as Dandahit or Baranti forest.....
